inexpensive is in the eye of the paycheck. For cheap and good take a look at the TC Konnect 6. Stereo in/out, one preamp, great sound overall and a desktop unit w/ a nice vol control. The drivers are good these days, the only knock on TC stuff. Less than $200. You would have to spend a lot more for better sound.
