Cakewalk Has Issues With Recording With Microphone?
Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, but I've read through of the few posts searching for recording and microphones, etc and nothing really stands out.
I'm using Sonar: Cakewalk Home Studio 4 and for some reason, whenever I record something using my MXL 550 condenser mic in Cakewalk, I have to save all of my tracks into .wavs individually (even though I should do this anyway) because I know the program is going to screw up the minute I save and close it out. I mainly just use the mic to record with vocals so I'm not sure what happens while recording other instruments but I'm sure it's the same thing?
Anyways when I go to open the project back up, I get an error message (Can't remember which one. Sorry.) and then Cakewalk won't let me open the project file. It doesn't effect any other projects. Only the ones that I have recorded vocals onto it seems. This makes me have to wait until the track is finished musically in order to do vocals, which I probably would do anyway, but it's just very time consuming having to worry about saving all the .wav tracks after I change one little thing all the time.
If you have any idea how to fix this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it. Could it be that Cakewalk just doesn't like my type of microphone?
Here are the stats of my computer:
Again, I'm using an MXL 550 for vocals and it's connected to a Lexicon Omega device, which is also connected to my keyboard.
