Please help me midi sync fantom x to emu planet phatt

I've been fiddling around trying to sync my fantom x so that I can trigger the internal planet phatt sounds by hitting the keys on my fantom x.
Midi is not a language Im very fluent in yet, on the fantom the device id starts from 17 and on the planet phatt the device id only goes up to 15. I have my fantom set to  remote from the sync/tempo menu and on from the mmc/mtc menu I have  mmc mode I have it set to slave. Is this right? or should mmc be set to master?

If you guys can download the manuals and take a look at the midi section for each I would REALLY appreciate it. I know that it would take less than a minute for you midi masters to figure out.
