Will my laptop run Sonar?

I have a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, with an Intel Core i5-2410@2.3 ghz.  Will it run Sonar Producer?

Thanks,

Possibly, if you only want to use a couple of analog channels.  I have a fairly new Lenovo with an i5 CPU with 6GB of RAM and I installed Sonar 8.5.3 Producer on it.  I have an MAudio Fastrack Ultra 8R, USB connected, interface.  I've done up to 6 analog channel recording with it without problems.  However, I haven't done any mixing with it as I transferred the project to my desktop recording system for any modifications and mixdown.

Thanks fireberd, I appreciate the info.  I don't see myself recording more than one channel at a time so maybe I'll be okay.  I am leaning towards the Ultra as well.

Most modern computers will run the Cake product line with relative ease.

Obviously the more "crapware" and memory resident things like AV stuff you run, the lower the performance specs will be.

BUT.... I ran my DAW on a stock Dell laptop for several years. I learned a few workarounds to keep my CPU numbers low but  yeah.... it should work just fine.

    yep  , I use an I5 , no issues..

only 2 things with laptops ....

    1) make sure you have a decent soundcard and NOT the onboard one..

    2) drive space is an issue for me as I have sample libs, so either a bigger internal (and an external) .. esata has the fastest transfer rate, I don't have that .. so I'm gonna put a bigger internal drive in (3 times the size)

Thanks for all the input.  I have 750 gigs on board and will be adding a 2tb external for storage.  Looking forward to getting Sonar loaded.

    Thanks Again,
