multi-tracking from Yamaha M7CL

Has anybody multi-tracked from a Yamaha M7CL-48 console?  If so, how did you do it?  Did you use the Stage Boxes?  Did you use firewire?  I am fixing to be headed that way.  Just wondered which would be the best and least expensive.

Thanks!
Hal

You need to use expansion cards in the M7 to suit your interface or split the incoming lines.
I don't think it has Direct Outs.

16 mix bus and 8 matrix configuration, with an INPUT TO MATRIX function that provides 24 mix bus output capability.

Well it's analog, but it would be the least expensive set up, Just grab a couple of multi channel audio interfaces.

Three Mini-YGDAI card slots for expandability.

Or you will need to by the card that matches your interface ( ADAT etc)

I've just checked (I have the memory of a fish) and depending on the model you could assign the OMNI outputs to bring channels out via XLR sockets (up to 16).
Any more than that I think you'd need expansion cards.
If the OMNI's are in use then this would cut down your options.
I don't believe they have a firewire option yet so depending on your channel requirement you may need several cards. They only have a maximum of 16 channels each.
I've never used the stage boxes so can't comment on that I'm afraid.
