Well, interesting or not, it is true, though 'knew' would be more accurate as we haven't seen each other in many years.  We still correspond occasionally.  While his music is not my taste, he is an incredibly talented and versatile guy... good person too.

    Hi Philz,

It is interesting.  The (or is it?) was referring to Bapu's customary (or does he?) line.

I have Rupert's Widescreen.  Yes, some of the tunes are a little more mainstream pop than I normally would listen to.  I like his wit, humor, and the cinematic--and top notch--quality of the production which is appropriate for a release called Widescreen.  If it was another artist, probably would written it off as being overproduced.  Here--it works.

A few favorites:  Second Saxophone, Psychodrama and Soap Opera.  It's funny, because I just pulled out the CD to figure out if Our National Pastime would work for the National Holiday theme.  It's close, but I'm not sure about it.

It's good to know that it's actually his talent that's showcased and not just a bunch of high-priced studio guys doing everything.  I'm also glad to hear that he's a good guy too.  I like to hear that someone actually deserves the success that they have achieved.

I think the last I heard of Rupert, he was on PBS with a show that was like an old-time radio mystery.  I think he was doing more acting and writing for the show than doing music.  That's already a few years ago.  I haven't heard anything lately.

I hope he continues to do well.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
    Jan
