Midi Settings

I have the Quantum Leap Pianos and am wondering if there is some settings that should be tweaked to make things sound better.  On the Sonar midi settings page what boxes do you guys have checked/unchecked?  There is a sysex exclusive box that is asking for an amount on there as well, what should it be?  It is currently at 64 and all other boxes are checked to be in use.  I am using sonar producer 8.5.3 and my midi comes through my motu traveler.  I have a velocity converter in line to make sure that the incoming signals are loud enough.  Thanks.

I don't think any MIDI-setting tweaks actually affect the quality of the sound the VSTi produces. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Velocity curves and such do change the behaviour, but not the sound.

What most people do, if needed, is put FX in the audio output track to improve the sound.

Is it possible your velocity converter is squashing the dynamics? I'd like to see a screencap of the PRV velocity pane on one of the Midi tracks you want to make sound better.
