Upgrading from HS 2004 to ???

I am thinking about upgrading from Home Studio 2004 primarily in order to avoid having to use vst wrappers.  I am thinking about going to HS 6.  Will this require any conversion of song files etc?  Would there be any benefit to going to HS 7?  Thanks for any input!

Home Studio 6 and Home Studio 7 are now both obsolete.  you can't "upgrade" to them any more (assuming you mean paying for the upgrade price through cakewalk).

X1 Essentials is now the replacement for Home Studio.  it does have integrated VST support (no wrapper).  no "conversion" will be necessary as it will open your project and bundle files without problems (normally, I suppose someone might have a problem sometime and call me a liar!)
