New Web Site/Host
Hey, I'm looking for some objective opinions on my web site. I'm considering switching over to using a host called Bandzoogle instead of building and maintaining my site myself using Dreamweaver. Bandzoogle is pretty cool because it offers more functionality that I am able to do with my own mediocre html coding skills. However, it's a little more "cookie-cutter" in design and I'm sure there are a million other sites out there that look similar to mine. If you have a moment, please take a look and compare the two. Being fellow musicians, I would appreciate your comments. Old Site New Site Thanks!

Hi Dave, Both sites look good. The news site looks more streamlined and easier to navigate. I prefer the new one. Good job. I didn't have audio hooked up, I'll check out the music later today. Good luck, Jan

Hi Dave- I would echo Jan's comments on the 2 sites. The new site has a more 'polished' look and feel, but the old one is actually quite nice too. I don't get the 'cookie cutter' feel on the new site. At this point in web development it's nearly impossible to come up with something unique. One thing I noticed is that the old site had a "Reviews" section, and I didn't see that on the new one. I enjoyed a few of the tunes and videos. All were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the video of Danbury Fair which I thought was very evocative and really well done.

One thing I like about the new site is the way each page has a header photo of you playing a different gig. It's good design with a powerful message.

Hi Dave, Great music! I noticed your NPR credit - have you sent any of your stuff in to SiriusXM for their "Coffeehouse" channel? Your songs and style would be a perfect fit. Your old site isn't bad... but I love the new new site. What I find most appealing about it is the layout; lots of information/content, but still "roomy" from this reader's perceptual perch. Easier to concentrate on one thing at a time when I'm reading. Keep up the great work - I'll be back to see what's up! No Bapus were consulted during the construction of this fan testimonial .

Both are quite functional, but I have to say my first impression leans for the new site. To me, it has a more professional look, and I find the old site to be more 'cookie-cutter'. Don't ask me to clearly define my meaning of 'professional' here. It is just a certain look-and-feel that I like. Nice job.
