That is terrible news... that's the main reason I haven't bought that synth in the first place.  Now I may succumb to the G.A.S. after all and get it.

They call 'em fingers, but I've never seen 'em fing.

If I remember correctly Fxpansion had a deal available to all Cakewalk members, where if you buy DCAM Synth Squad you get all three sound expansion sets (they currently sell) for free. Check your email for the newsletter with the offer.

I'll look, but I don't recall that one.  The last deal I saw was the one that had the expansion packs for half price and that ended July 1... so I missed out.  And just so you guys know... the announcement that they are close to 64bit was enough. I succumbed and picked it up so I could start playing around with it.  Great sounding synth and the way you program it is very intuitive.

Are you guys that have it using it with BitBridge or jBridge?  It seems like their is a small issue with the window size in BitBridge using Fusor.  Looks fine in the Global window, but if you open up Cypher it cuts off the very bottom of the display.  I tried it with jBridge and it's better.  I haven't had any major issues with jBridge, but the audio engine did sort of freeze up on me when I opened one patch and I had to exit SONAR and start over.  All in all, they fixed the big graphics issues I had a few months back with the demo, so the bridged versions will get me by until I can get my hands on the 64bit.  Very nice set of synths.

Argh! Sorry my bad. It was that July promo. The sound sets weren't free but half price. Doh!
Not sure why I thought they were free...
Anyway, I don't use jBridge, as I'm still all 32 bits.

    I think so too. :-)

I'll eventually pick up some of those preset packs. I was listening to your Modernity demos today and I really like it.  I'm a little over budget and it looks like I need to spend a little money on non-musical surprises as well or I'd grab it now.  I do a lot of metal and like to mix in some hard synth sounds with it, so Ferocity looks interesting as well.  I know I'll eventually get all three, but I'm having fun exploring and tweaking the presets it ships with.

That's what it's all about. I find Synth Squad's modulation extremely well designed, as it's very easy and fast which helps experimentation. This is like a true modular environmet, where you can tweak everything with anything, but unlike a modular synth, there are no patch cables to get in the way! Ha!

If you need any help with Synth Squad give me a shout.

You probably won't have to. The offer is still valid until July 31, and all three sound banks are free! Woohoo!

If you bought DCAM now, get in touch with FXpansion, since you don't want to miss those sound banks. ;-)

Thanks for the info and for the offer to help out with learning Synth Squad.  I just sent an email to FXPansion, so I'm hoping they will come through for me. I've been a customer of Cakewalk since Pro Audio 5 and a customer of FXPansion since DR-008 and the old VST Adapter.  (Also have BFD 1 & 2)
