Watching the Womans World Cup - England v France quarter-final

The football's not great but I'm hanging on in the hope that they all swap shirts at the end

It's almost like football 'cept much slower.

Looks like England found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victoria victory (so to speak).

After the hard-fought defeat, three of the players agreed to have sex changes so they can help the men's team struggle again in three years.

    ----------------

Now, watching Japan upset Germany was an interesting match!

Tomorrow the U.S. team plays Brazilian women (are they allowed to have more than 11 on the pitch???)

Wow, strange game for the Americans today!  Brazil didn't score a single "legal" goal and yet it took a literally last minute goal (in the 122 minute of a 123 minute affair) just to tie things at 2-2 and force PK's...  I think it's a very good thing for that referee that the U.S. managed to win that game or she could have been in real trouble!

I feel sorry for the one Brazil defender who, basically, had to screw up twice for her team to lose.  First she causes an own-goal in the first 74 seconds of the game, then she fails to score on her PK attempt...  It would have been better Karma if Marta had failed (and not been given a second chance she didn't deserve) or if Erika had failed after her despicable fake injury...

It also sucks that Bueller is out for the Semi's for getting a straight-red that she didn't deserve.  How the heck did that ref get to be in a quarterfinal game anyway?  I will say that the U.S. looked their best once they were down to 10 though - not sure why they can't play like that with 11!
