Vocalign Problems in X1

Hi everyone.

Issue #1:  When I drag a slip-edited clip from Reaper into Vocalign (standalone), I end up with that exact clip.  When I drag a slip-edited clip from X1 into Vocalign, the ENTIRE clip shows up.

Issue #2:  So I thought to myself, "I'll bounce-to-clip before dragging into Vocalign so the slip-edited information isn't there."  Should work just fine, right?  No.  When I drag the resultant bounced-to-clip from X1 into Vocalign, the playback in Vocalign is white noise.

What am I missing here?  I'd really hate to have to go through Reaper for all my Vocalign duties.  Anyone have similar problems or know what I need to do?  Thank you!

All versions of Sonar default to "non-destructive" MIDI editing.   So what you "see" is not necessarily all that's there.

That's why you're seeing  the 'whole' clip, as you say.

However, turning off non-destructive editing has some other consequences (not all good), so most people leave it on and learn to work with it.

If you bounce to clip and apply trimming that should work, though.

Hi Billy.  Not talking about MIDI editing here.  Are you familiar with VocAlign?  Reaper's editing is nondestructive, as well, but it's not importing the entire clip into VocAlign.  And bounce-to-clip, as I said, results in white noise playback when brought into VocAlign.  Or am I misunderstanding you?  Thanks.

Alright, so Apply Trimming worked it out!  Still very confused, though, as to why dragging in a trimmed clip would work but dragging in a bounced clip would result in white noise.  Hmmm...

Anyway, just glad I don't have to make Reaper my middle man.  :)

AH, I thought you were talking about MIDI clips.

But, glad apply trimming worked.   I'm not sure why Bounce didn't, but I've seen many strange things in the DAW world    So sometimes ya gotta chalk it up to ghosts in the machine lol.
