resetting Kontakt .nki instruments?

Probably a very noobish question, but can anyone here tell me how to reset an .nki instrument back to it's factory setting? Basically I was fooling around with the band electric guitar--flipping a bunch of settings around (distortion, reverb, attack etc...) and saved it before closing it. Now whenever I reopen the guitar .nki, it sounds like $#!t now (due to all the settings I messed with) and I can't seem to remember how to change it back. Is there an easy way I to set it back, or am I just going to have to reinstall?

    Hi!

Copy manual the INSTRUMENTS .nki you have trashed from the Original DVD Library DVD's.

You might want to consider making your library NKIs read-only, to avoid such problems in the future.

In a DOS window, go to your top-level folder (e.g. "Kontakt 4 Library") and type in the following command:

    ATTRIB +r *.NKI /s

This will protect all your factory instrument definitions from being overwritten.

Yes, but often NI them self update there Library patches and samples when you run the "Update installer". You will then get a error message and not be able to run any Kontakt 4 updates in the future..so it's not perhaps so great idea to make it "read-only"..

It's as easy to remove the read-only flag as it is to apply it. Just change the +r to -r. It takes about 10 seconds. A lot less time than finding your installation disks and restoring a file.
