When I updated my ASIO drivers-my sound suffered

When I record the guitar now it's a very thin audio signal (small .wav) When I normalize I get a ton of noise before and after the .wav-Using GR4Pro and GTP3 straight to PC-kinda sick of the M-Audio Fast Track!!. I'm sure it's a sound card setting I missed-looks like a need a refresher course or slap-or BOTH!!

Hi Ace haven't talked to you in a LONG time!!! Can't believe how much noise there is even before I start playing/recording.  I thought an outboard piece of gear would stop the noise?? Hooked the Fast Track back up-put a noise gate on the channel strip-for some reason I couldn't get it to work in a Aux or bus channel?? I also slip edit the noise out-IF there is a better different way to do this let me know!!
