Man you have skills!!  I love the tune for sure.  on a personal note it needs some transitions...so say at 1:03 leave the guitar out of the mix and bring in all those FX you got going on then bring in the main slowly.... just a thought... man if you put a producer on this track ....it's really cool.  Love your voice!!  Dang brits : )

.....or if not at 1:03 drop the main somewhere and let the FX take over.  Puts a break in your song and leaves us wanting more.  take us on a journey. : )  very hot all the same : )

Thanks, it's nice to get such positive feedback, I thought everyone thought my music was ****.  The only problem is I am not a Brit, I was born in Australia.  My father was born in Newcastle, England, I was brought up by Brits.  My hero was John Lennon so I suppose I mimic him somewhat.  I don't know if you have heard any "Aussie" music I would not like to sound Aussie.

I think also I tend to sing in an Brit voice also because to me it's universaly regognized, its hard to explain but I think you get my drift.  If I sing in the lower registar my voice sounds more like my talking voice but even then I have been asked whether I am a Brit.  It's all to do with Australian television, when I was growing up almost all of our television came from England and also I grew up in a enclave of Brits, all around where I grew up ther were Brit migrants and then there is the indomitable Peter Sellers, whom I learnt so much from in terms of mimacry.

Thanks once again it is so nice to get positive feedback.

    Peace Ben

Sincere apologies : )  Man the into has me feeling all crossed between pink floyd and feeling some radio head on the way....then it just leads me strait thru..  hehe got a couple brit and ausi friends....damn if I ever get them mixed up : )  my bad.  Never the less, proper sound mate.  But I must say those FX with the vocals are sick.  would be stellar to drop the guitar and get that funk feel all tripped up with the vocals you know.... and then drop them off their feet leading the guitar back in.  I'm new but this tune to me is epic.  I am a big radio head type fan and I was totally feeling it.  cheers : )

No need to aplogise, I consider myself more Brit, than Aussie.  I can even get a Brit pasport.  It is good that you picked my steal.  Every great artist steals, this is because, one there are only a certain amount of combinations of musical phrases and chords and if you want to take it further certain chords and musical phrase represent certain emotions and feelings and two, if it works the first time it will work again.

Just so you know what I have done is steal the first two chords of Brain Damage by Pink Floyd, the two chords are d9 and d5 but we start on a dmajor chord.  Couple this with my spoken word introduction and the M-Tron flutes, you get a very typical Brit sound.

    Peace Brother

    Fun and Playfull stuff.

I liked the bass line... it seemed like a fresh approach and it really suited the song.

The synth slides didn't do it for me.

    best regards,
    mike

Sounds a bit dull (where's the GLOSS?) production wise.

Fun song. Can't advise on the commercial appeal though.

This is not what I was expecting from the title of the song but hey, I like it.  Very creative indeed.  It does have a bit of a Lennon-esque feel to it.  I love the second voice in the song too --- the Gang of Four used that technique on some of their songs (e.g., Anthrax)
    Nice one.

Thanks for listening freddy, yea the title is suppose to throw you but the content and the actual recording are very punk like hence the title The Punk Song.  The recording was done with a 90 dollar behringer pre amp and a 150 dollar AT2020 microphone, although I have just recently gone back and used my skills that I have gleened over the years to spruce it up.

    Thanks for listening Peace

    Another great song man! :)

On a side note ... I can't believe you haven't got more feedback on When I Was Born. Just a suggestion, maybe post it in it's own thread without that thread title and I bet you people will respond to it better. I could hear that being played on rock stations right now here in the states.

You've definately stepped up the game here in the song forum! I guess I have to finish the blues tune I was working on now and throw it out there. Need to get that VLA first. :)

Thanks Bub and notnat, well Bub it's the story of my life and notnat I am a crude, oddball who is very creative.  Basicly I have pissed off everyone who could have helped me and this includes this forum, so my music how ever inventive it is or was will never be the flavour of the month.  I was once called mr sandpaper and its the old adage of people being a little bit frightend of the crazy oddball (great word) who in the words of the great Pete Towshend has shown the door to the temple but no one had the guts to leave.

Euripides once said "the wisest men follow their own direction" so that is where I am heading.

    Peace Ben

Ps oh yea and I have a lot more inventive material to come and I am starting to work my way into form again for the next creative block in other words "you aint seen nothing yet"

Cool tune.  It took me a bit by surprise, but that probably means it was working.  It reminded me of something, but I can't put my finger on what it was.  No matter... I liked it.
