''CLOUD 9''

I swapped guitars (temporarily) with a mate recently - I got the better deal and his lovely Taylor inspired this one.

This is a song about a spaceman and spacewoman falling in love - it's meant to capture a  'wide eyed wonder' kind of vibe, in an indie pop style. (and at 37 secs it's ''ship'', although it sounds like something else!)

Still lots of rough edges, not least the guitar solo at the end - but for a demo I think I'm pleased with it, but I'm never very objective with my own stuff! What do you think?

I like it.  It has a good indie pop feel to it.  This might just be my cheap equipment but I have a hard time picking out the bass.  Maybe it should come out front a wee bit more (?) ---- or ---- maybe I should save up and buy new equipment.
    Nice job.

Three thumbs up on the song and performance!!! I'd like to hear the low end a bit more though.

    I like this too...
I agree... more kick and bass would be good...
To me, the snare hit on every beat got a little old...
I think this tune is very well played and sang...
Vocals could come out a little more...

    well done...

Really catchy tune, and well performed too.  I would like to hear the vocals more present in the mix.  They sound great... why not put them further to the front?

    Very well done!

I agree with most everything said, especially about bringing the vocals more forward.  Great tune and very well played and sung!

Thanks to all above for your comments.

Clearly a resounding 'bring up the bass and vox' message coming through, which I will do.

Notnat: you found me out for being lazy with the beats, which are all EZdrummer library midi - I think I'll take your advice and keep the 'snare on every beat' for the chorus & try to work out something different on the verses.

cheers for all the encouraging words.

I really like this. Only listening on lappy, but on here it sounds like the vox could come up a db or two and the mix overall is a little high heavy and could use a bit more low end. Good tune though. Just a few tweaks and it's golden.
