built a new computer
I bought a new barebones kit at geeks.com, it is a dual core AMD 7550 with 2 gig of ram. Not a cutting edge, but a nice step up from my old 2400 XP+ AMD Also bought a new 500 gig SATA drive for it and i run my old storage drive as a program drive now. I installed MC5, BiaB, and RB on it. Everything runs smooth except RB, which was stuttering and stopping. I had to reinstall the audio, and video drivers and re setup RB. So far it is nice. Right now it has XP Pro SP2 on it, and i hope soon to upgrade to wind7 64 and 6 gig of ram Should be a nice fast machine then. How do you register MC5 with out internet, i forgot?

A dedicated machine for MC/BB/RB...very nice. That is essentially what I have and yeah... it's a sweet machine. I'm smiling for ya Rob....

I paid $150, and $54 for a new 500 gig hard drive. I was able to pick it up since i live about three miles from Geeks.com

So far so good. As mentioned above i had some issues with RB, but those seem to be slowly working out.

You should be able to build a very fast computer, the cheapest price, just remember the latest components will be more expensive approach than their value. If you choose any of the next version of the next component, you may save a ton of money.
