Axiom M22 stereo speakers as studio monitors?

http://www.axiomaudio.com/m22.html#
The speakers in question. A good price, dozens of 5 star reviews, they look amazing and are described as very high quality and extremely accurate. Studio monitors? Not referred to as so, but I don't see why they couldn't be. The frequency response, 50Hz-22kHz is definitely on par with similarly priced speakers and they're main selling point is realism. Does anyone have any opinion on this? I'm seriously considering getting these to use in my home studio setup.

in my experience, almost NO home stereo speakers work well as nearfield monitors.

if they did, that'd be what everybody uses.

the difference being home speakers fluff the sound slightly.. there not made to be FLAT which is what you want.. the sound to come out warts and all..so you know whats cruddy in the mix.. sure they are good for reference. years ago I used to use missions (I still use them for reference on home set up) , some people thought they were studio monitors it was funny.. but I'd say save up .. it's an area you don't want to skimp on..
