No I wasn't able to effect drums before, but no problems with other tracks

Do the drums play at all?

What audio interface and driver mode are you using? ASIO? WDM/KS? MME?

 When you insert Session Drummer 3, which of the options in the image below do you enable?

Drums play, I use the ASIO driver, and I enable Simple Instrument Track

That may be a problem right there, even though you should still be able to put audio fx in the instrument track FX bin. Try this and see how it works. Insert Session Drummer 3 but enable All Synth Outputs: Stereo, and Midi Source.

This will insert 8 audio tracks and a Midi track. I put them all in one folder and name it Session Drummer. Put all your Midi data in the new Midi track. It is already routed to Session Drummer. In Session Drummer 3 load whatever program you want to use. The image below is for Session Drummer 2 but I think they both work the same way. Change the Output Numbers I put Red circles around to different numbers as I have done. Each Number represents an audio track. So the way I have it set the kick drum will play on the first Session Drummer track, the Snare will play on the second Session Drummer Track, etc. I generally rename the Session Drummer audio tracks to the instrument that is playing through it.

You can change these numbers by clicking and dragging the number or be clicking the number and using the up/down keyboard arrows to change the number.

Even though there may be only one Midi track for the drums (you can use more than one if you want), the drum sounds will come out on the different audio tracks.
