Click on 'View' in track view where it says View Options Tracks Layers Clips MIDI V-vocal Then click 'Display' Then click 'Vertical Grid Lines' You also turn Aim Assist on there. Hope this helps. Bub

I have to agree with cryptexmarble the grid lines were brilliant in Sonar 7 and 8. Very useful and very missed in x-1.

Just do what Bub said. The grid lines are still there. There is nothing to be missed. SP

I just noticed he said, "of the selected measure". I've never seen that option in 8 or 8.5? It was either behind or in front of all the tracks, but I never saw an option to show them when you select a measure?

Ya, the grid has always been static, either in front of or behind clips. There were those old AudioSnap Pool markers which could be used as a grid. Maybe that's what the OP is talking about? SP

Not the place for new feature requests, but it would be great if the user could select finer resolutions. Real help in manually positioning beats.

In what way does disabling snap to grid allow me to set the grid lines to a finer resolution?

It doesn't. He's suggesting that turning off Snap might make it easier to place your beats.

Yes, turning off Snap is needed, but also to have 32nd note or even 64th note grid resolution (or any other) would be very helpful indeed.

Yes that would be nice indeed. That's one of the things I would like to see improved.. At the other hand - you always can use the guide line to position things between grid lines.

--Where have I been? I've turned those grid lines on in the past, but quickly turned them off. All I need is the time line. When you have a project laid out with measures starting where they really do, there's never any question about what beat you're on. The track you're working on should be scrolled to the top so the time line ruler is right there --. RB

Why is this so hidden or tied to audiosnap??? This should be as simple as it is in the PRV!!! You SHOULD be able to have you snap to grid off, so you can manually move your clips around freely, BUT, still be able to see the grid lines set to whatever value you like ie.quarter notes etc...and it should be set in the "view" area. With the way it was in 8, you could get it set up to the note value you liked, but you had turn off the grid if you only wanted to move by a small time value that wasn't a musical note value. I know, I know, you could set up you nudge values to move by a certain amount, and just keep nudging your clips until they lined up to the grid that you have to leave on.... sighs heavily...... Maybe i just need to learn some more work arounds!@#$

They would just be there if you needed them. You could set the default like the PRV??? Any thoughts
