X1 Upgrade Issues and Questions

Hi all,

I haven't been able to find a thread that has a tried and tested upgrade/install order for my particular configuration and I wanted to post it here since I have been having problems with it.  To give you some background, I have a physical copy of Sonar 8.0PE, the digital (downloaded) copy of the 8.5PE upgrade, and I just recently purchased the Physical copy of the X1PE upgrade from 8.5.

I have had a stable 8.5 version running for a while (so I know my download is good), but I recently reformatted my PC and am actually thinking about buying a new computer, so I wanted some advice on what components from each generation/upgrade to install and in what order.

1) Do I really have to install each version, starting with 8.0 and then run the upgrades to arrive at X1?  (Is there any possible way I can just do a fresh install from my X1 PE disc, even though it is an "upgrade?") 

2) Must I install the patches/updates between?

3) And what is the exact order that I need to install each version, including (if necessary) patches, updates, and additional content?
