can't delete unwanted folders in media browser
The online help indicates that I should be able to click on a red "x" to delete entries in the media browser. However, I find that the multiple entries, most of which I want to delete, have the red x greyed out when I select them. The only media folders that I can delete are the ones that I create myself. How can I delete the unwanted media entries (which in my case are practically all of the default ones that are present when I first installed X1)? thanks Keith

I'm not sure that I want to delete the content in all cases. I would just be able to remove these entries in the media browser to avoid clutter for now. Keith

from what I can tell the media browser is just a window to whats on your hard drive so I don't think you could do it. I could be wrong though....

I always run Sonar as administrator since I run Jbridge. The default files in the browser still cannot be deleted. I am becoming more and more irritated at how Sonar enforces a file structure for the SW synthesizers, and not for Sonar. This gives sonar an unprofessional sheen. Keith

I queried Sonar Technical Support, and they replied (promptly) that these directories are Sonar default files and cannot be removed from the browser. I tried renaming the directories, and they still appeared in the browser, but with no contents. So, the folders names are cluttering up the browser, even though they don't exist. I am trying to keep an open mind about X1, but for what I do, this is a typical example of how the tool thwarts my ability to set up my system in a way that makes sense to me to facilitate my "workflow" (although I'm playing, not working. Also, there are the Cakewalk SW synthesizers, that will not allow me to define default directories for my programs and sample libraries. In some cases, I can get around this by editing the registry, but not in all cases. This is making X1 seem more like a toy to me and not a tool. Do other such music applications force file structures like this?

Most programs you can't hide directories. You can set the default path though in X1 so just create a samples folder and put all your media in there.

Maybe what you see are only shortcuts. Whatever, move the shortcuts and/or folders using windows explorer. Deleting may lengthen your lifeline, making happiness unattainable, J.
