Delay when recording on X1 Essentials on a new project, problem

All of a sudden, whenever I open up a new project in Essentials, whenever I arm the track and hit the record button..there is a slight hesitation before it starts recording and the metronome plays for about 2 seconds, even when it is not armed.

However, I can open up an older project from a month ago(at the same time as the new)..arm a new track, and it begins recording instantly, with no metronome randomly playing?!?!

What gives?

    Maybe your current project's resolution is too high for new projects? Maybe your old project had lesser resolution and hence ran without any lag?
