Not Responding

Hi

Has anyone got any clues as to the following problem? Whenever I record a clip or make a change to what I have recorded I see the cursor spinning for about 15 seconds then my screen goes white and the message 'Not Responding' comes up. Any help appreciated.

    Well - it is impossible to say what goes wrong here. We just have not enough information to give an answer.

    Give some more information like:

    The soundcard you are using.
    The system (processor, memory etc.) that you are using.
    The driver (ASIO, WDM etc.) that you are using (and how you setted this up).
    The exact chain of events that lead to the "No Responding" error.

    With the last remark I mean - what are you exactly doing, step by step.

    Hi

    I am using a Roland VS 100 on an Intel Core i5 with 4GB of memory. I use ASIO drivers set up thru the preferences section of Sonar X1. I get the message after I record a track and press the stop button or if I start adding effects fron GR 4 or other plugins.

    Thanks for your time.

    Same thing happens to me. Probably a bug. Advice: When your doing the action that causes the crash--save-save-save.

    I had this problem once and what I found on my setup was something was launching in the background tieing the system up and faulting out with the white screen.
    I went into msconfig and shut everything down not required on start up;
    right clicked on the speaker in the lower right corner, selected Sounds and went into Communications Tab and selected "Do nothing" when Windows detects communication activity.

    Every system seems different, just gotta find whats running I believe.
