fade

So, is it any easier to grab the fade thingy on a clip in X1?
It does drive me nuts in 8.5.. gotta zoom way out to avoid the crossfade thingy.

Bit too subjective a question, I reckon. Probably best to try the demo.

I've looked at this post a few times now, timidi - and I haven't replied because I don't quite understand what you're asking.  Is it easier to grab the fade thingie--but then you're saying it's too easy to grab it by mistake in 8.5--?  Is that the question? - If so - I don't understand why you're having to zoom way out--?

i know exactly wuhat youre saying and a symbol appears for fades now and it is easier. problem is, which i reported, is with very small/minor fades the tools dont work well in that when you go below the middle of the clip vertically it should turn into a slip edit clip tool and that doesnt happen on very small fades.  but yes grabbing fades does work better.

they are almost thuere but did not agree with my completely accurate description of how the tool should change to slip edit perfectly when below mid clip vertically...

Sorry if I was vague or whatever.

I think Lance knows what I'm talking  about. Thanks Lance.

RB, I mean the fade not the crossfade (which I never use).

?  I still don't get it - but that doesn't matter.  I just get frustrated when I don't understand what the problem is - It's hard to grab the triangle fade tool in 8.5?-- I've never noticed.  I've used it in X1, seems the same, except now you just need to make sure you're in the upper 1/2 of a clip to access it.

when the fades are real small in 8.5 is when it is way harder.

Also, when the fades are real small, the tool doesnt go back to slip edit when in lower half of the clip in X1 unless you keep trying to move it and maybe get it to change.

Small fade clips are easier to grab now that at the upper half of the clip in X1, that is for sure.
