How to bounce MIDI to AUDIO in sonar 8.5 LE (with use of keyboard and ua-25-ex)

Dear cakewalk-users, music-freaks and friends,

A half year ago I started making music and record and mix it with sonar 8.5 LE.
I'm really happy to use this program but still got lot of questions.
Something I really want to know is: How to make audiotracks from my MIDI tracks.

I'm using:
a laptop
sonar 8.5 LE
a keyboard (with: MIDI OUT, MIDI IN, an input for sustain and an output for headphones , 3.5 mm jack)
the ua-25-ex interface (cakewalk)

If someone could help me, I will really appreciate that!!

I'm verry sorry if I put this in the wrong forum, of if this question is answered before.
I know this question is also in the FAQ of cakewalk but I dont get that article. I really need a HOW TO
explanation.
And i'm also very sorry for my bad english, I do get English lessons at school but i'm only 16..

Yours sincerely,

Sara

    Welcome to the forum.
If you are using the keyboard to hear your MIDI tracks, you connect an audio cable from the headphone output to the audio inputs on the UA-25. You may need to buy some adapters or a cable at your local electronics store. Looks like you'll need a cable with a stereo (TRS) 3.5 mm plug at one end and 2 1/4 inch plugs at the other end. Sounds like piano or other sounds with stereo effects on them you would want to have both of the plugs plugged in. Something like bass guitar or violin or horn would only need 1 of the plugs plugged in since they are mono.
In an audio track, select a stereo input for those sounds that are stereo; choose a mono input for mono instruments, either the left or right depending on which of the jacks you're using on the UA.
Lower the volume on the keyboard; arm the track(s) and hit Play (not Record).
As the song plays, raise the volume of the keyboard until the recording meter peaks before it hits red at the loudest point of the song.
Stop, rewind, click the Record button. Do that for each MIDI track of the song, muting the others or soloing the track you're currently recording.
If you're using software synthesizers to hear the MIDI tracks, select the MIDI track and the soft synth track while holding down the computer keyboard's Ctrl key. The tracks should turn color, indicating that they have been selected. Scroll through the song to the end to ensure that the entire clip in the track is selected.
Click Edit>Bounce to Tracks at the top. Make some selections in the Bounce menu and hit OK.
The track will be rendered to audio right before your eyes.
    Good luck!

    Greg

    @57gregy
Thankyou very much, this is 1000 times more helping than al that turorials, dvds and stuff.
    But I maked a mistake:
my keyboard input for headphones isn't 3.5 mm jack but a 1/4 jack (the big one)
And i know now: i have to buy a cable.
But i can still not figure out which cable i need because you said  at one end 2 1/4 jacks but my interface (ua-25-ex) don't have 2 inputs for that...

    my interface has:

    front:
    2 XLR inputs
a headphone output (1/4 I think, same as keyboard input, big one)
    back:
    see image i attached

thank you so much so far, maybe u can help me 1 more time?:)
    xxx

    Hi Sara

I am guessing you have the Midi you have recorded on screen ?

If So  the little freeze button should be over next to the M - Mute. R - Record. S - Solo. W - write buttons . Near them there is a little button that looks like a snowflake or a star type of thing.

I hope that helps I wont be near my Daw for another 30 mins if you cant find It Pm Me your email and I will send you a screen print :)

Glad I could help a little.
Those inputs are combination inputs capable of accepting XLR or 1/4 inch plugs. The hole in the middle is for the 1/4 inch plugs.
And freezing a track will only work if you're using software synthesizers and it only temporarily renders the track to audio.
