Lynx AES16e is NOT Playing Nicely with Sonar X1 (but is with Cubase)
Not sure what the deal is but I'd love some advice from anyone who's used this interface before. I have started working out of a different studio where the interface is a Lynx AES16e. The owner is a Cubase user and apparently only needs to enable "Direct Monitoring" in his DAW to avoid all latency issues. I can't find anything in Sonar that works well. Set to 64, the latency is unnoticeable but I can only have a few tracks and low-cpu plugins before clicks and pops start. At 128, the latency is unbearable (to my ears) although the stability is much better (although I can still see the CPU raging, making me think that a larger session will cause the same click and pop issues). I have been using a FireFace 800 at my own studio for a long time and it always corrected for latency. Never heard a problem.... so coming from that to this is a new world for me and it's quite a pain. Specs: Windows Pro XP 32 bit Sonar X1 Producer Cubase 5 Anything would help!
