"Show Velocity" PRV Mode - BUG??

Hello,

before I write to Sonar, I figured I should check in with you all.   Is anyone else having the same problem?

You double click a MIDI clip, PRV opens and EVERY time it shows the velocity lines in the notes area (controller area I keep closed).   I have to EVERY TIME I first have to turn "show velocities" ON, and then OFF!!!!!    It looks like it remembers my setting as "OFF" but you still see the lines until you RE-toggle it ON and off.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks,
Adam

Adam, I checked on this, and can't reproduce the problem.  If I've chosen for the Controller Pane to not be displayed (under View) and for the Velocities to not be shown (under Notes), --that's what I get when I double click a MIDI clip, and the PRV wasn't already open. -- Don't know why my results aren't the same.

I get velocity lines showing up in other controller lanes in the PRV, but i've never seen velocity lines showing in the note area. That's a weird problem. How tall are the velocity lines?

What if you changed your settings such that the velocity lane is open when you open the PRV, but kept very small. Does that keep the velocity lines out from among the midi notes?

Hi, Glenn - The velocity lines and controllers show up superimposed on the notes if you have the option to have controller lanes turned off.  That's not a bug - that's the way it's always been.  Some people seem to like that, but I think it's a horrible mess - Gotta have me Controller Lanes/Panes.  But Adam is wanting velocities to not be displayed at all--He wants to focus just on notes in the PRV and not velocities and the controllers - he probably focuses on those things during a different part of his project building.

Hi guys.   Yea Im gonna have to play more later when I get to my DAW, but that is exactly what I want.   EVERY time I open the PRV mode, I just want to see notes.   IF I want to see Velocity or other controllers, I want to then open the Controller Pane and choose what I want to see.

I use PRV in the Multidock so there isn't a lot of room there since I leave Multidock fairly short, so I don't want to see the Controller pane every time I open.   And if the Controller pane is not open, I don't want to see these tall vertical lines on the left side of every midi note.

    I will play more later.
    Thanks,
    Adam

    I see....thanks for the clarification.

I don't think i've ever used the PVR without at least one controller lane open. Going to check it out when i get back onto X1 in a couple hours.

I can replicate the issue that velocity is displayed when the PRV is first opened, and you have to toggle the setting on and off to have it recognized. It will also re-display them if you add a track to the PRV using Pick Tracks. I usually have the Controllers pane open and want to see velocity there, so it isn't a problem, but it's definitely not working right here, either.

Randy, you are still using x86 SONAR, right? Maybe that's the difference. I don't have it installed, so I cant check.
