X1bBug? - Confirm for me maybe.

1. Load a control surface plug, oh say... Red Rover. Close Sonar
2. Start Sonar, don't load a file.
3. Go: Utilities, Red-Rover. Property page dialog launches.
3b close Red-Rover property page dialog
4. Load a file
5. Go: Utilities, Red-Rover. Property page dialog launches.
6. Unload File so there is no project loaded.
7. Go: Utilities.

Is the Red-Rover menu item grayed out and inaccessible?

Is here, over and over.

Win XP Sonar x1b

---I don't get it.  As long as your Red-Rover is available when you have a project loaded, what difference does it make if it's not available when there's nothing you're working on--?

Yep happens here too with a MCU, although if you open Sonar without a file at startup it is available. IIRC that used to happen in 8.5 too.

In answer to your question Randy the reason I notice is I use my MCU to open files which doesn't work if you close a file and then try to open one. I've just got used to opening a file and letting the "Only one project open at a time" feature close the other - which is probably why I haven't noticed in X1.

Perhaps it's by design but it seems inconsistent if it is available when not opening a file on start up but not once you've closed one.

Because in the plug I am coding my property page has some setup facilities.
That's when I found this behavior.
