FW-based External NIC/Router Combo - Does such a beast exist?

It appears that a lightning surge zapped the onboard network interface in my DAW, and several ports on my Netgear router. Since I don't have a spare slot for a NIC in the PC, I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a combination external NIC and Router that can connect via Firewire.

Anyone know of such a device or other recommended external NIC solution for a desktop PC with or without the router functionality?

EDIT: Did a little searching. Looks like FW ethernet adapters are rare, but USB is common. Nothing with a built-in router that I can find, but that's okay - several ports on the Netgear switch are still working, and that's enough - just thought to consolidate the ever-metastasizing jumble of boxes, power adapters and cables.
