You can save any pattern you create in SS. Once that pattern is saved, you can load it into any new instance you are starting - then edit it from there.
Another option is to copy the clips in Track View, then just open the clip you want to edit and change it. There may be a setting to "link" a copied clip, so be careful not to choose that. If clips are linked, any change to one could change another. To make little changes in SS pattern, you do not want to link your clips.
