If you want to learn about using effects in a mix....

Pick up the Computer Music Special Edition magazine titled " EFFECTS" which just came out. The best coverage of delay, reverb, pitch, harmonizers etc. I have seen. A lot of information you can find all over the internet but condensed into a single resource. Just thought I would pass the information along.

Gear: A bunch of stuff.

Why?  If you want this information I will scan it and post it on my website for all to see.  My reference library is excellent when it comes to that sort of stuff?

    Just ask!!!

I bought the issue based on Middleman's recommendation. I have seen it a few times in the newsagent but really did not check it out until Middleman mentioned it. It is very good as he suggests. As a teacher of sound engineering I am always after good articles I can hand out to students.

But the whole issue is devoted to effects not just an article so it might be impractical to scan the whole thing and put it up on a website, not to mention the copyright infringements of such an act as well which may not go down too well with the mag and I can understand that.

The CD that comes with it is also very useful as well as containing a heap of great free VST effects including some that have been exclusively coded for Computer Music. I suggest just buying the whole mag. Its not cheap though, it was over $20 here in Australia which is quite a lot for a mag as SOS has been stable at $10 for a long time now. But it is worth the value based on the amount of info in it. Recommended.

I wouldn't advertise my "Reference library" very much if it's of the kind that might tempt police to knock on my door.

The CM cover-DVDs are really nice. I always recommend it to beginners especially. Buying one copy of the mag you get dozens of proper VSTs plus lots of manuals and info.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
