Free On-line Computer Music Magazine - New Issue Available

http://www.wusik.com/ww/products/wusik-magazine

There's 170+ pages in this one and some pretty good content.

Those who mentioned they had trouble reading the last issue should try some experimentation.  There are options to get it to display single pages rather than double, and you can actually make it work in a way that's not a hassle to read.  The hosting sight seems to behave differently depending on browser.  I get different results on my work and home machines, so I can't offer a cookbook solution here.  But as I said, play around with it for a little bit and you'll probably find something that works for you.

Checked it out last time you posted a link. Not sure I took the time to mention it, but thanks for sharing. If the format is improved, it'll probably turn me into a regular reader. :)

I checked it out last time you linked and although the content was impressive the unnecessarily-fancy Flash presentation put me off.

I see that hasn't changed - but for 20 bucks one can download a PDF version. That's really too bad, because I would gladly pay 5 to 10 bucks for such a magazine at the newsstand.

That's $20 for one issue?  Yikes. That's like the price of a plug-in during the No Brainer sales.

Great content, but I don't even buy paper magazines for that price. (which might explain why I haven't bought one in over 10 years)... I think I'll stick w/ the online version. Works ok w/ Safari here.

The online version is free.  Individual issues can be purchased as downloadable PDF files (I wasn't even aware of this until Bit mentioned it).  But there are three versions: 300dpi is $16, 96dpi is $8 and 50dpi is $4.  Actually, you purchase credits, 10 for $20.  The 300dpi is 8 credits, etc.

Another option is Wusik membership which is $120 a year.  That also gets you all Wusik products and updates.  Wusik is (literally) a mom and pop operation, folks who are working very hard for not a lot of money in this economy.  For those who can afford it, they're really are worthy of anyone's support.

I want to make clear that despite my criticisms of the Flash presentation and expensive PDF options, the content of this publication is excellent. Easily on par with the best print periodicals such as SoS, EQ, Mix, EM, etc. If it were presented in a straight HTML format, I'd be reading it on a regular basis. But the Flash format is just too much trouble.

At first it seemed easier to navigate than what I remember but when it comes to reading, not just browsing, I can't seem to find a setting that's both comfortable AND readable. The fact that I'm on a laptop using the trackpad may not help but I really find myself struggling to adjust the text so that I can read it and whenever I have to scroll down or change page, I have to start all over again.

Too bad cause these are some very nice articles.
