IE users have lower IQ?

Ok.  So, various news outlets from the UK reported recently that a study of online IQ tests revealled that users of Internet Explorer had lower IQs than those who used other web browsers.  Once the implications of this were explained in small words with extensive supplementary visual aids to the IE user community, they were outraged.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet/8674678/Internet-Explorer-users-have-below-average-IQ.html

Sadly, the BBC, who earlier had dutifully reported this story, later exposed it as false.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14370878

This, of course, led to another round of explanations to the IE user community, who is currently very uncertain whether or not they have actually been insulted.  At this point in time, IE users are watching Firefox user's faces very closely to see if the Firefox users are snickering.

Chrome users said they would have gotten together to celebrate, but neither of them could get their parents to drive them.

Safari users attempted to post videos to commemorate the event, but, sadly, could not due to Flash limitations.

Am I the only one here who's thinking that it might be interesting to issue IQ tests to various Cakewalk forums?  I'm thinking that the Coffee House would be at the far end of the Bell curve, one way or another...

Hmm, I use Opera, so what does that mean?

And if I use the feature it has that tells it to impersonate IE or Firefox for a specific website, will it make my posts seem dumber or smarter?

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I'm using IE, so I had to look that up.  I got hungry so I had a snack.  It was good.  Then, I got thirsty so I had some more coffee.  Someone was trying to talk to me but I was thinking about becan.  That made me think about mosquitos and what a funny word that is.  I was going to continue my search, but i don't have cubase on my work laptop, and I've heard that you have to use cubase for anything requiring any level of complexity.  I lost track of what I was looking for, so I thought about Bapu.  I wonder if he's having a Bapuist day.  I doubt that he's having as much pie as BayouBill (honourable mention), but at least he's not hurling his pie at Rupert Murdoch.  I've heard he doesn't like that sort of thing.  Murdoch, I mean.  I read that on the Internet, without paying attention whatsoever to the facts or the context because I'm using IE.

I sighed contentedly.  Maybe the terms "Happy" and "Dense" are appropriate after all?  I wouldn't know, but I'm not overly concerned, either.

My IQ test scores are usually an irrational number.  Once, I scored a dark fuchsia instead.  I don't know what that meant, but my therapist promptly retired and became a Junior High school band teacher.

All my school teachers resigned...when I asked the psychiatric doctor why, he told me that they said "they needed to find their vocation in life...'

Can anybody tell me what Vocation means or should I just start using Cubase???

it would certainly not surprise me if it really were true that a study would have determined that IE users were less intelligent.  Since there are so many more IE users than any other browser that means that all of the people who you run into every day who don't know how to turn on a computer by themselves use IE (and I'm sure every one of you know at least 2 or 3 people in your circle of aquaintances who fit this category).  Those people are not going to be downloading and installing 3rd party browsers to use anyway, so all of them will still be using IE.

so the study is feasible IMO anyway but not for the reason that it sounds like.
