Did you hear about the blonde that after losing in a breaststroke swimming competition, she complained that the other swimmers were using their arms.

Isn't that Hank Garland in the pic?

A blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for her to do.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"
The blonde said, "How about 50 dollars?" The man agreed and told her that the paint and ladders that she might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?"
The man replied, "She should. She was standing on the porch."

A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?" he asked. "Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats. "Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. "And by the way," the blonde added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

I dunno ... I could be wrong. It almost looks like a young Waylon Jennings, but he was never really known for his playing ability.

Mr. Bryant was born and raised just up the road in Moultrie Georgia.

I used to use the Jimmy/Speedy music in between sets to blow the crowd away... with out letting any one know I was attempting to do so.

When you can get the crowd dancing between sets you're in the zone.

Jimmy was famous for waltzing into the Fender factory with a couple cans of beer and bugging the guys all afternoon. They'd try to kick him out and then he'd start playing and everyone had to recognize that the guy was setting the standard for what electric guitar might become.

He's like the most influential less than well known player that's ever been.

He challenged the jazz guys, the country guys, and all the speed pickers by laying down a standard that has rarely been met.

    best regards,
    mike

There is probably not a guitar player whose licks I haven't been able to play including Eric Johnson, Steve Howe or Jimmy Page although Pat Metheny gets out there on the edge with his tunings and some things are hard to figure out. Jimmy Bryant, because of his speed, is the only one who's licks I cannot duplicate at the same speed as he played them. He was simply stunning, clean and fast. Try playing the Arkansas Traveler and duplicate what he was doing. Very challenging.

The other thing about Mr Bryant is that his sense of harmony and chromaticism was as sophisticated as any of the age... and that was a high point for appreciation for such things.

His melodies entertain listeners at many different levels.

What's the meaning of "perfect pitch" in a country music recording session?

Being able to hit the dumpster with the banjo on the first toss.

The goal of any self-respecting Jazz player.

(Ooops, self-respecting and Jazz player in the same sentence may be redundant, but I ran it round my mind 3 times getting faster each time and it seemed to work so I'm gonna leave it there.)
