Drop out after project loads. (X1)

I recently re installed X1 to try to solve a problem with a plugin synth and now every time I open a project there is a drop out as soon as the project loads. I am using a Delta 44, Windows 7 and have never had any audio issues that I could not fix. After the dropout happens I can press play and then stop and continue without the dropout happening, until I load the project again. I tried re installing the Delta 44 but still have the problem. I also tried different projects and the same thing happens. I have a feeling this is a easy fix but I need a little help.
Thanks, Paul

Just guessing here, but maybe you just need to wait a minute or two. Sometimes there can still be things loading after your project, which can have a performance hit for a few minutes.

For example, within Sonar itself, it can spend some time getting audio transients sorted out in tracks with audio snap enabled. Sometimes it will warn you about this, sometimes not.

A more common cause of this for me though is forgetting that I've got instruments with lots of sample data still waking up. So still really heavy hard drive access going on, even though as far as Sonar can tell, everything is fully loaded.
