How to delete measures

I need to delete measures from the entire project (every track) and not just the data that was in the measures.

Is there a way to do this?

Thank you.

Highlight the measures...then right click in the area to delete...hit edit....delete.... then choose the options you want,  and hit ok.
I have my keyboard shortcut set up as CTRL DEL as the option to bring up the edit delete window

    Hello revsnd,

That does delete the stuff that's in the measures but it still leaves the blank measures.

How to delete the whole thing?  I tried all the options in 'delete' but they still leave the measures.

    Thanks for responding!

A while since I did this but you have to select/highlight the area to delete across all tracks in the track pane - use the ruler to select which measure(s) or parts of measures and then highlight each track.  There should then be an option under Edit-delete to 'delete hole', that should remove the area you have selected.

EDIT _ To be clearer I should have said select the time area you want on the ruler then Ctrl+Click each track so that the selected time area is highlighted in each track.  Then Edit-Delete-(check Delete Hole).

    Combo,

I highlighted every track.   I dragged my selector over the ruler of section i wanted deleted at top of tracks (they all turned grey like they're supposed to).   I right clicked...chose 'edit'...chose 'delete'  chose 'delete hole' and measures are STILL there.

You may be experiencing a "locked track" problem.

When I do this, I start by selecting everything (cntl A) unlocking all tracks--both data and position--and then following Combo's suggestion.

and then selecting all and locking all again, of course.
