Troubles accessing all soft synths in X1 Trial

Howdy,
I'm having great fun playing with The X1 trial and am making full use of the Rapture LE soft synth. However, Rapture LE is the only soft synth I can access. If I navigate to "Insert" -> "Soft Synth", I see "Plug-in Layouts" and "Rapture LE", nothing else.

How do I enable the others that come with the trial? I can see "Percussion Strip Trial" and "Vocal Strip Trial" located at "H:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins" (not sure how to enable though). I'm also interested in trying out the essential instruments if that's an option.

I'm using Windows XP on a Dell XPS of some sort (let me know if I need to be more specific).

Thanks for your feedback in advance. :)

Can you open the Synth Rack and see the other synths?

It may just be that you are trying to insert at a place where it does not make sense.  If you don't see the other synths in your synth rack I think something must have gone terribly wrong in your install.

    Hello gcolbert,
Thanks for the feedback. I opened up the Synth Rack and only saw Rapture LE Trial.

However for better or worse (turned out to be for the better), I purchased Sonar XL Essential today. After install I see a LOT more options. Life is happy.

Have the most awesome day ever.

    Best regards,

I just downloaded the Sonar X1 Trial as well and I have Superior Drummer 2.0 installed on my computer. I'm having the same problem! I want to insert SD2.0 soft synth into X1 but I can't find it. Does the trial not allow people to use soft synths?

The whole reason I got the trial was because I wanted to see if it handled SD2 better than 8.0 my current daw crashes once a night because of SD2 and if X1 can handle it better than I'll buy it but I need to test it first!

    Any suggestions?

If you're still running 8.0, it's strongly recommended to update it to 8.5.3 which, in many peoples opinions, is the most stable of all.

You might find trouble getting hold of a legit copy, but they're still out there if you're prepared to do a bit of searching.

Have you rescanned your VST plugs inside X1? Have you added the path which Sonar needs to scan in order to pick up your vst's?
