For my fellow donut aficionados

This video shows how various styles of “donuts” are made on an industrial scale.  When I was a teenager I trained at a Dunkin Donuts … on a smaller scale, we would make the yeast donuts in 50 lb batches ... ultimately cutting them by hand, except for the French crullers which were pumped in to the fryer via a hopper (they were of normal size unlike the donuts that Beagle posted recently and what ever happened to that cruller song we were working on?)

Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts should be considered narcotics. Oh *pause* My *pause* God *pause*.

I wish we had them here in IA. They're every 10Ft. in NJ/PA. We have this crappy chain called Krispy Kreme here that they sell in every convenience store but they don't even come close to a DD donut.

When I finally snap and end up on death row (LOL J/K OAI?), my last meal will be two of every DD donut and a large regular (which means a large coffee with creme and sugar for those who aren't up on their New Jersian speech.).

My wife buys DD coffee to make at home but it's just not the same.

I love donuts.  It's too bad they make you look like the Goodyear blimp though...

.... being a Minnesota-ite for just more than a week now, I have discovered that there are no DD's here.  I have been getting my coffee from a place called Caribou Coffee.  It's not bad, more like Star Bucks but it is not Dunkin Donuts.

Mine was always "large coffee light with cream ... no sugar"

The funny thing about the DD lingo is that it has changed and even been lost over the last several years.  At one time you would ask for a regular and get it with cream and sugar ... now in many of the stores throughout NJ you have explain in detail.

The donut situation is interesting too.  I recently tried to order a chocolate donut (NOT chocolate frosted) and what I got was a yeast based creation instead of the tradition cake based donut.  The manager explained to me that they were phasing out chocolate cake.  The other thing is the "satellite store" where the donuts are made off site ... that unfortunately is becoming the norm.

Damn. I'm gone for 13 years and the place falls apart.

Damn it Danzi! How could you let this happen!?

Man, I tells ya, a big regular and a mixed box of donuts was like a warm fuzzy Christmas morning every day of the year.

I live in a civilized community.  We have a Dunkin' Donuts within a mile of my house.

Yeah.  It's like living in Atlantis, only a little drier.
