Opinions on "SONAR X1 Explained" Video Tutorial by Groove 3
I'm looking for a video tutorial on Sonar X1 Producer basics, like how to get around in the different views, etc. Has anyone tried the "SONAR X1 Explained" Video Tutorial by Groove 3? Opinions? Does this Groove 3 video cover more of the basic stuff than the new Craig Anderton video? Thanks, Jonathan

can't speak for the craig videos but Eli does a good job with the groove3 ones. there is another set also. I signed up for a year wit them, as I use a lot of what they do video things for.

The Groove 3 Sonar X1 Explained video is a really good intro into X1 and will probably get you up and running very quickly. (Craig's vids may be just as good, but I don't know. I haven't checked them out, as I got Eli's ages ago).

It's a fantastic video. I love the odd meter of Eli Krantzberg's dialog. His Studio One Groove 3 series is excellent too.

Hi Jonathan I have both Craig's video and Eli's Sonar X1 Explained. They are both excellent, but as a place to get started, it is Eli's that you need. His explanations are so clear, and I can't recommend it enough - you will learn a ton of stuff if you are fairly new to Sonar X1. Good luck. Bill

The Groove 3 Sonar X1 Tips & Tricks video is also very good -- like the Craig Anderton product, there's a number of techniques demonstrated that i would never have figured out on my own. I found it very worthwhile. Regards Glenn

Another vote for the Explained videos. Well worth the price. They don't assume any prior knowledge of Sonar, but, at the same time, they move quickly enough that someone with some previous Sonar experience (like me) will not find them boring. They did a great job of striking the right balance. I initially skipped a couple of lessons I though i didn't need, but, when I looked at them later, realized they had some good tips.

Just so no one's disappointed, I want to emphasize that my video is not a "get up and running on Sonar" video and is not intended for those getting started with the program. It seemed to me that advanced users weren't really being addressed by existing videos, so that's why I took the approach I did.
