Is there a way to enter a numeric value directly into a fader (in track view)?

Is there a way to enter a numeric value directly into a volume/gain fader (in track view) instead of dragging the fader with a mouse?
I have exhausted all my ideas on how this might be done :)

Thanks,
Jonathan

You can click on the fader and use the mouse wheel to set level.

So there's no way to just enter a value from the numeric keypad?

Only available in Console view when the strips are widened.

Using the numeric keypad doesn't work as it seems to be exclusively tied to keyboard shortcuts, but you can use the normal numeric keys above the qwerty keys.

    Ahem......

Click the fader, hit F2, enter the value. Works in any view - inspector, console, & track view. Or at least it does on my version.........

I do not know, what version you own, but in the german version of X1 Pro you must klick once into the numeric field, hit F2 and enter the value or doubleclick into the numeric field and enter the value. Single Klick on the fader and hitting F2 does not work here and double klick on the fader set fader to zero. Your X1 behave different ?

Sorry I should have been more specific. Clicking on the fader (or slider) in track view works. Clicking on the numeric field at the bottom of the fader works in the Console & Inspector views. Sorry for the confusion.

Edit: Double clicking on faders here resets them to my defaults.

thanks for the great tip. I didn't know that for track view.

for those others of us who didn't know. clicking once on the fader in track view doesn't really do anything (except briefly open a tooltip) but then pressing F2 does allow you to enter numeric values.

this also works for pan etc in track view.

Never think you know it all.

I don't do much track work except to edit the actual data. i always mix in console view. woohoo.

Not directly onto an envelope but you can a node. Right click on it and select properties there's a box there to enter your required value.
