Setting up AKAI MPD32 as ACT controller in Sonar X1

I allready have an A300 Pro set up as a ACT controller surface and it works fine. Now I want to add an AKAI MPD32 but it just won't work.
Strange thing is: I don't even get any MIDI information out of this thing. Sonar recognizes the device and I can choose it as instrument and as ACT control device but somehow it won't receive any data sent from it.
Does anyone of you guys have the AKAI too? Some tips on how to set this thing up would be nice.
I allready went through the horrors of setting up the A Pro and it seems as I will experience the whole thing again. ><
