Getting clip trim to snap to grid

Is there a way to get the clip trimming feature to snap to the grid in X1?
I have grid snap on (and clip moves do snap), but it doesn't seem to effect trimming.

It should do automatically, yes. I'm wondering if this is a magnetic snap problem. Have a look in the Snap and Nudge page in the preferences menu, and if Magnetic snap is set to anything other than "off", change it to "off".

If that's not the problem, I've no idea.
