Problem Inserting Audio

I am running Windows 64 bit Studio, latest patch, X 1b.  When working with multiple tracks, I am trying to insert a 2 channel audio .wav track (into its own channel.) I select the track where I want to insert, in the location I want to put the .wav, right click and select import audio.  The file is imported but at some random position within the project, not where I have selected.  I have also tried using the Media browsing tab via drag and drop.  When dragging the audio to the expected location, the file is dropped somewhere else within the project.

Any idea why?

Try putting your now time to the spot in the project where you want to drag and drop or import the wav file to and that should do the trick.

Yah, I tried that.  Still moves to a location other than where I am pointing at.  Interesting thing, I click else where in the project, the clip is also assigned this same location.  Is there a setting I have missed somewhere?

Some audio files are timestamped, and by default, Sonar will import these at whatever time the timestamp says. If it imports to the same time no matter what, it's probably this.

To check this, go to Preferences > Audio Data and uncheck "Always import broadcast waves at their timestamp" and import the file again.

Might not be that but it's always worth checking.

Dang, that did it!  I would have never thought to check that.  Much appreciated!  I have been pulling my hair out for the past hour!  Thank you!
