Not responding

Hi

Just wondering if someone can help me out. I am using Sonar X1 Producer. I keep getting the Sonar is not responding message and have to wait several seconds before I can keep working. It happens after I do almost anything.

Is anything else running in the background that could be using up your resources?

Are the tracks Audio or Midi, and if Midi what synth(s) are you using?

Is this a new installation or just a new problem with a previously good working installation?

    Hi

I have nothing running in the background that I know about. All the track (4) are audio and this is a new problem with an existing installation.

    Thanks again for your time.

This sounds rather peculiar with that small a project.  If you have any plugins running on the project try right clicking in both the Track FX bin and the Bus FX bin and select bypass "Bins of this Type" in both.  If that solves it then re-enable both again and start turning off 1 plugin type at a time to find the one that is causing the problem.

Make sure that you don't have any WiFi or Virus software working in the background.

Go through the Preferences and try disabling these settings:
    X-Ray,
Use 64 bit double Precision Mix Engine. (If you really need this it's usually not important til your mixing down and mastering your project)
