Please add an easier way to internal downmix/bouncing!
Please add an easier way to internal downmix/bouncing! If I want to downmix an VST Synth: In Sonar/ Hard way! 1. Select the MIDI track- 2. (with a lot of struggle if you have hide the tracks in track view) Try to Select it in Console view ---> the Synth Audio track- 3. How long the AUDIO file should be? NO, not from Start to end of whole project. Select only the Area (BARS) MIDI.clip length you want to downmix in trackview. 4. Press Downmix 5. A list comes up. Choose a Audio track of destination or add a new AUDIO track in the end of project. 6. Bouncing......... Ready ************ in example Cubase/ easy way 1. Select the MIDI track- 2 Press Downmix 3. A list comes up. Choose a already made Audio track of destination or add a new AUDIO track in the end of project. 4. Bouncing......... Ready The Audio CLIP comes up in same position and length as the MIDI CLIP. ************************* SONAR should automatic select the VSTI- Synth Audio track when I select the MIDI track for Bouncing. SONAR should automatic understand when I select the MIDI track what AUDIO it belongs to. SONAR should only downmix the MIDIClips length automatic. Thank You! Best Regards Freddie

Why don't you just freeze the synth then drag the frozen audio to a new audio track? That's what i do

Twigman Why don't you just freeze the synth then drag the frozen audio to a new audio track? That's what i do No..and I will explain why. Let say you use Omnisphere. you have 8 ch off different MIDI and sounds in same MULTI synth. I just want to dowmnix ch 4 between BAR 18-20 not all sounds. I don't want to DOWMNIX to beginning to the end of whole project ,4 minutes of blank AUDIO space... If you use and press FREEZE instead it will freeze all tracks from the beginning to end of whole project. Freeze the Synth also? Frezze 8 ch of 4 minutes of blank AUDIO space also? That takes time I don't want that. I Only want the AUDIO of the MIDIclip DOWNMIX between BAR 18-20 of Ch 4 only. Let say worse, I use Kontakt. Then I have over 16 Instruments...16ch of MIDI

Sorry but Im pretty happy with the way that Sonar does that, just press freeze(you don't have to select the MIDI track, just in case you want specific portions/clips), or bounce to a new track, the best thing its the audio gate function, its removes unnecessary silents and blank spaces(Cubase also have that?)

Fill out a Feature Request ...

Why don't you just capture the required bit you want bounced as audio?

I agree to that selecting the MIDI-clip should be enough, but I got curious: What does Cubase do to FX-tails? Does it keep recording as long as there's something sounding in spite of the length of the MIDI clip, or do you adjust the sensitivity or...?
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Bristol_Jonesey Why don't you just capture the required bit you want bounced as audio? That exactly what we talk about. But in SONAR it is harder to do compare to other DAWs.

I think I'm talking about something different. Why not simply record, via analog connections, the section in question to a blank audio track?

Can't you just rout it internally to a blank audio track?

Kalle Rantaaho What does Cubase do to FX-tails? Does it keep recording as long as there's something sounding in spite of the length of the MIDI clip, or do you adjust the sensitivity or...? No Cubase bounces exactly the time range you have selected. (You don't slect the clip, you select in the time line at the top of the arrange view). I always found using Freeze the fastest in Sonar. Freeze, drag audio to new track and done. As carlosagm79 has pointed out, there is a gate function that removes silence so it is not creating a recording from bar one to the end of the project. You set up the gate settings once for Freeze and never have to look back. Bristol Jonesey, if Cakewalk would respect their customers a little and understand that we are not morons and can deal with feedback loops and allowed us to route busses back into tracks that would be great but last time I tried to convince Noel Borthwick I didn't get very far.
