maybe a dumb question?

i love google, but i dont even know whats its called and what its not to search anywhere for this. but lets say i recorded a monotone monologue. then i wanted to go in and edit the "melody" like midi notes. the closest i can think of is anteres but is it all autotune? or can i have control over what it tunes and what it tunes it to... is that even what im trying to do?

    Yes.

Just drag the mono tones to any tone you want.

I use Melodyne but I imagine Autotune works the same way. V Vocal works that way and it makes the best artifacts.

It really just depends what you want and how "arti" you want your -facts to sound.

    Have Fun!!!

    Good Luck!!!

wow mike. thanks for the quick response. melodyne sounds great. but a quick search on the price is around 500 bucks. wow. i didnt know v vocal did that, i thought it was an effects processor. but now that i think about it, what im wantin could very well be an effect. is the dragging you were talking about within a v vocal interface?

V-Vocal is primarily a vocal tuning tool.

You can use it to change:
    1. Note pitch
    2. Note timing
    3. Formant
It will only work on single, monophonic lines (so you're good there) and for best results, split your work up into short clips and work on each one separately. Make sure each clip is completely clean, free of bleed and other noises, and bounce each clip down when you've done.

V-V will work in either automatic or manual mode. I find manual is best for making small pitch corrections.

V-Vocal is for pitch shifting, just like Autotune and Melodyne, simply.

I wonder where you got the idea that V-Vocal is just an FX. Surely no-one's said so anywhere.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
