opening multiple wav files in sonar

Having just digitized some old 8 track tapes I was wondering if I could select all 8 tracks simultaniously and import
them in to sonar in one go as opposed to one at a time. Anyone know of there is a way of doing this?
Cheers
Stevve

    Hi Steve.

Have you tried having Windows Explorer & Sonar open side by side, and just dragging the files across?

I'd try that first just to see what happens.

Yes you can. Each will go to their track too. One thing to look out for is be sure some tracks aren't layered.
If you drag and drop them make sure you put  the mouse at the point you want them to start.
If you have any problems let me know.

because tape is prone to wow and flutter and most inconsistant your better off to change these tracks to grove clicks so they keep a consistant flow and dont fall off in tempo..its just something to think about.

Charlie, he said he's already digitized them.

Yes he did but I think Chuck is talking about what can be done within X1 to keep the tracks in sync if that becomes a problem.

    Makes sense John.

Now, if Steve had digitized the original tape tracks one at a time, then wow & flutter, not to mention drift could cause a massive problem syncing them up in Sonar.

I hope he did them all in one go.

    STEVE? Where are you mate.

Very good point Bristol.  I have never had to do that and it could be a real mess. Oh well. Glad its not me. LOL

The tapes have been professionally transfered at great expense but we opened them at my brothers studio (in cubase) last night and they play fine. He wanted to open them all up simultaniously and we couldn't figure out how to. I said I'm sure sonar could do this.
    That's why I asked.
    Cheers

Steve I will bet Cubase can load them as a batch. I do know that Sonar can cause I do that enough to know. I don't recall if Cubase supports drag and drop like Sonar does. Ill bet it does though. Its been a long time since I used Cubase.

BTW I should state Sonar can use the import file to import more then one wav file or other type audio files. You don't have to use drag and drop.
