Happiness, Stability, Reliability!
Can't say I am not happy now. X1 had so many bugs that effect the way I work (staff view track pane no longer linked to active track the major dealbreaker for me) that I finally thought, why don't I try installing Sonar 7.0.2 (64 bit) on my new Win 7 64 bit DAW?
Sonar 7.0.2 works flawlessly, I'm able to run the new library I bought, no crashes, no bugs that interfere with my workflow. X1c does not address the bugs in the event list, staff view, and for me at least, the very problematic screensets that didn't work right on three different computers, three different operating systems. My new system has 16 GB RAM, which Sonar 7 can address and my new choir library can utilize, even better! X1 is sitting in the supply closet, where, frankly, it belongs unless Cakewalk decides to take a serious look at why Sonar 7 is a better piece of software.
Because Win7 will be around for another 5-7 years, this means I can run Sonar 7.0.2 with it for that long. It does everything I need it to do and it does it without crashing, without graphics bugs (well, one minor one that doesn't slow me down) and without disappointment.
THAT'S progress.
