Sonar X1 and Amplitude 3

Hey all --

I just purchased Sonar x1 Studio and Amplitude 3.....and I am completely ****ed when it comes to using them.  Here is my question.  How in the hell do I use amplitude 3 in sonar?  I cannot figure out how to open up the amps and effects once I load up sonar.  Also, I'm trying to load "guitar impulses" so that I can get beter sounds.  I loaded the dll file in the right spot (i think) but I can't figure out how to use it.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

It should show up as an effect in your effect bin.

Have your plugin manager search for it.
Go to the FX bin right click, go down to VST plugins>Amplitude 3
    Should be there

BE SURE to check that you have the Audio Monitoring button turned on. It's the button next to the record arm button. ALSO, make sure you have the input and output of the Amplitube track set. These are the main two things most people miss. If you need more detail, I will be online later to help. Gotta run. Hope this helped.

    Hey Jim!

With respect, you seem very new to Sonar so I thought I'd point you in the direction of this page: http://cakewalk.com/CakeTV/SONARU.aspx/Get-Started

It contains tutorials with the FX bin, recording, plug in manager etc. Should at least give you some clear hints of what to do. And if there's something you have trouble with, then this forum and the F1 key is never far away. Sonar is a complex beast and takes a while to learn but hang in there and you'll be recording guitars in no time;)

    Good luck
